Welcome to our 2017 vintage edition! We're busy as bees with awesome new vintages on the way and our cellars under major development as well as Mother's Day 2017 being just around the corner. With picking recently finished, vintage 2017 has been a bumper year for Flyfaire! We've had perfect conditions for ripening our grapes packing in the flavour content. We predict to have some great wines in the 2017 vintage lineup!
We had a hard time picking this year with the shear quantity of grapes with the most Chardonnay and Merlot grapes in recent memory! The Merlot harvest is already in vats developing a delicious looking luscious blueberry colour. Not to mention the bottle-ready Chardonnay with its yummy creamy pear characteristics.
Our recently planted Carménère is already in its third year and has produced a promising crop of rich crimson fruit. Our cool climate environment seems to make our Carménère very happy indeed. We'll be adding the Carménère to our online shop shortly, so keep a look out to pick up a bottle of this very limited vintage (limit of 1 bottle per customer).
Lastly, our Riesling grapes are displaying a tight dry finish, with crisp acid, melon and citrus flavours - all pretty characteristic of our signature Rielsing for those who know it.
New Function Facilities & Cellars
Planning is well underway with our brand new function facilities and cellars. Our newest facilities will be more than perfect for large events, such as weddings. The function room will be able to easily cater for events over 150 people with a bar, outside deck area and garden.
A neat new feature of the function facilities will be our guest rooms featuring a lounge and private rooms - which we're sure will be popular with brides and bridal parties.
We're also thrilled about our underground cellars which we are pretty sure are a world first! Our architect, Paul Simpson from Envirodome, is the proud designer of our new underground cellar and production area featuring a vaulted ceiling (reminiscent of cellars built in European wine facilities).
Paul has cleverly designed a modular vaulted ceiling with pre-caste concrete walls and steel columns. The new cellar will be used for our wine production and for wine education as well as guided tours.
We'll provide regular updates over 2017 showing the progress of the construction. We think that everyone will be able to enjoy these new facilities in early 2018.
Spoil Mum this Mother's Day
Our locally famous Mother's Day 2017 menu is back this Sunday the 14th of May. Always a local favourite and assured to sell out, Mum will love this decadent afternoon relaxing at Flyfaire.
Our fabulous Country Afternoon Tea is made up of:
- Club sandwiches
- A selection of cakes and biscuits
- Scones with homemade jam and fresh cream
- A glass of sparkling wine & orange juice
- Tea or coffee

Reservations Made Easier at Flyfaire
Recently, we made making a reservation at Flyfaire much easier for visitors and groups attending for events, parties, functions, etc. Using the reservation page is now simple and easy to use with one section for normal reservation and another section for Group Reservations.
Group Reservations will now provide us much more information in advance such as the set menu they would like to have for their group and indicating if they would like wine tasting in advance. Check out our Menu Options page providing groups with great choices in advance for their event. Groups can also pay their deposit in advance using our store on the website.
Easier Way to Square Up Your Bill
We recently introduced a new payment system at Flyfaire to allow visitors to square up their meals and purchases quickly and effortlessly. You may have seen the payment system Square popping up at other business around the traps and we decided to join the bandwagon.
A greener way to pay with receipts sent via email or a text to your phone. We accept Visa, Mastercard and AMEX with our new payment system.
