Woomargama, NSW – Locally owned Flyfaire Wines Cellar Door and Café announced today that it took the winning Gold Award in the "Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries" over the weekend (Saturday the 25th of July, 2015) at the Inland Tourism Awards held in Broken Hill, NSW.

The Inland Tourism Awards are held every year to acknowledge excellence in tourism in the four Victorian and New South Wales regional tourism areas of Central, Inland, Murray and Riverina.

Chair of the Awards, Jane Barnes, had this to say about the event:

“The 12th annual Travel In Inland Tourism Awards showcased some of the best tourism attractions, products and operators in NSW and Victoria. This year, all entrants were of a high calibre. In some categories the marks between finalists were so close that a silver and bronze award was given. The winners demonstrated a high standard of professionalism and innovation in their field."

The team at Flyfaire Wines is delighted to have won, having gone into the awards not expecting too much given the stiff competition.

Our winemaker, Les Hanel, stated the following about winning the award:

“We put a lot of hard work into the submission and we're delighted that it paid-off in such a big way. It really is such a fabulous surprise and great to be recognised for the hard work that we've put into our tourism experience."

The team at Flyfaire Wines believes the Inland Tourism Awards is a great way to develop tourism in the Murray region and recognise independent operators that are providing wonderful tourism experiences.

Flyfaire Wines is located in the Woomargama National Park and we are close to the regional centres of Holbrook, Albury/Wodonga, Canberra, and Wagga Wagga. We produce quality cool climate wines and provide a premium cellar door experience.
