Vintage Information

Impacted by a very tumultuous summer with unusually cool wet weather.  This limited the ability to ripen fruit to gain the big impacting desired flavours.  The vines put of lot of their energy into foliage growth to make up for previous difficult years during the drought.

The vintage provided excellent fruit with tight bunches of Chardonnay grapes which were busting with juice, albeit very low in yield.  The Baumé constantly moved due to the weather patterns and a decision to pick early resulted in a Baumé of 10.5-11.

The grapes when crushed produced full fresh flavours with a smell of pineapple and fresh melon.  Flavours are developing into crisp and sharp notes with excellent varietal characteristics in good harmony.

Serve With

Cold roast pork with a serving of Nana's chutney and an asparagus / sweet potato salad tossed with some Dijon mustard dressing.
